I really feel what you say about "higher level of conciousnes" is very true. The golden ring with the golden dot in the centre is also something similar to a realisation i had one day. Sidently when looking out the window i realised that "Nothing really happens", and for my inner vision i saw like a white star wit a white ring around it, but 3dimensional, from the side, almost like a star with a saturn-ring around it, and evrything was so still.
So your description felt like my own!
