In the past many generations thought that the planet was flat, until science proved it was round. Yet tribal people already were aware of the great mystery of the universe. They held to their oral stories that in the cosmos our stellar system is only a tiny part of an in comparably larger stellar system. Their tales are of visitors from other stellar worlds.

The idea that life can flourish only under terrestrial conditions has been proving obsolete by research and discovery. It is a mistake to believe that all life needs, water, light, and oxygen. Even on our own planet there are forms of tiny life that need no oxygen to survive. They are called anaerobic bacteria. A given amount of oxygen acts like poison on them. In fact, the assumption that life can exist and develop only on a planet like Earth is stupid. New proof that life is by no means bound to the prerequisites set for our planet are constantly accumulating.

The oldest Native American sages mention a Thunder bird who introduced fire and fruit to them. The Mayan legend, tells us that the "gods" were able to recognize everything: the universe, the four cardinal points of the compass and even the round shape of the earth. Outline drawings of animals which simply did not exist in South America 10,000 years ago, namely camels and lions were found on the rocks of the desert plateau of Marcahuasi.

My own grandmother told me the stories of our clan that mentioned the ancestors who came from the stars. She also talked about how our planet was once a galactic vacation resort. A place where beings from far away galaxies came to enjoy the tranquility, beauty and fruitfulness of our planet. When I moved to Arizona one of the elder uncles of our Mother Hopi tribe told me a story about how his clan people flew up the Colorado River on shields of gold. As mankind continues his exploration into outer space, the tribal stories will no longer be considered the result of a primitive imagination. Once the improbable things that humankind cannot conceive of are shown to be true, as they will be, barriers will fall, allowing access to the endless possibilities that the cosmos still conceals.
