All those different terms are unnecessary.

There is you which is operating based on the Mind that has been filled with crap while being raised in this society, and there is the inner Higher Self which is basically the same as God.

The Higher Self has all the answers, all the knowledge, all the wisdom. The Higher Self is in every way and form the very God that created all there is. Looking within, listening to the Higher Self is what all light workers should be doing first and foremost before they look outside of themselves for information other people and beings provide. Looking outside of yourself always puts you in a position where you can be easily deceived by incorrect information. Sure, people say: "Well, I listen to my gut feeling, so I can weed out the wrong info from the right." While that can work, there is a catch. The "gut feeling" sometimes is mistaken for what your own limited ego mind slips in there - so even then you may be deceived.

While listening to outside sources in itself is not a bad thing, in fact, it can be a great source of confirmation - ultimately what is best for your own spiritual enlightenment is to always first find your information on your own, from within. People don't often do that because they don't believe they are good enough at it.. that somehow someone else would for sure know better than them. That is the very core issue with all light workers. It is the main barrier that stands between them and their ascension.

Greetings Angel-In-Disquise :),

Very nice subject, the "Higher Self"...please keep the 'GOOD' questions coming. If I may just speak relatively to your question as not directed in any special understanding but I would like to comment on the Higher and Lower selves for there is so much confusion about ego, soul, overself, and all the rest of it. The Higher Self is Our Overself, the piece of us which controls the physical body from afar. The Overself is the soul, the super-ego, the super being, the overseer, the one who manages us from some distant plane of existence.

The Overself is the real 'I' and the word itself to the best of my understanding comes from a very old Tibetan saying, "the Man in Charge Above." So when you think of yourself down here, you should think of yourself as a puppet dangling on the end of string, the string being the Silver Cord, trying to carry out the wishes of the Man in Charge Above.

One can actually look at this also as the whole nucleus, whole power or the whole fount of our existence; it is the point from which all feeling, all senses, everything about us, originates, and to which everything about us returns.

We, here on Earth, are pulling the chestnuts out of th fire for our Overself in one sense of the word. It does not matter if we get our fingers burnt, because our fingers have to last a few years only, but the Overself has to last throughout Eternity and a bit longer. We can feed the spirit part of of by meditation, by contemplation, and by seeing the good which we have learnt through the incarnate experiences.(funny how we don't see more people running around with black fingers :))))))))

So I also agree to not listen to everyone, but we must start somewhere, we must first listen to something from someone to take the first steps or find our way. In common sense terms, it is surly just cheaper for us to behave ourselves while on this Earth, because this is just a blink of the eye compared to the Greater Life beyond.

We have to devolop love and good sense. We must develop and practise understanding. We must avoid doing those things which cause pain and distress to others for although while on this world it is easy to delude other people, to lead them astray. There is no wonder several people have commented to not believe or follow what others say and tell you!

The Lower Self, I like to call the LOWER MIND! This is the part of our person which absorbs knowledge and stores it. If we knew how, as some Easterners do, we could recall everything that ever happened to us, even from BEFORE we were born.

It is quite easy if one knows how and if one has the patience to practise. People who can do this are stated to have ' total recall.' This can be accomplished by practice, but one should not do it unles one has a clear consicence because if you have total recall you can recall all the unplesantnesses as well as the pleasant times, and the unpleasants things frequently appear even worse when looking back upon them.

Total recall is within our sub-consciousness, and if there is good reaons to want and know more, a competent hypnotist can hypnotise a person a few times and gradually take him or her farther back into the dimmest recesses of the sub-conscious memory.

Truly, they can discover why a person has certain inhibitions or fears or one can decipher old documents in a language which one does not understand, because if one is taken back through the space and time of one's own Sub-conscious one can even tap the racial memory of mankind.

So learn all that you can here and prepare yourself to move on to higher things! Please know that you will not spend the next 30 years of your life asking questions in forums. You will move on to much higher things and in all likelyhood you are now establishing the foundations for discovering and learning for the rest of your life. What has thus far been said in my honest opinion is quite creditable, but then again, what does your heart or Overself tell you?
