Dear Friends,
Many changes are happening: new jobs, new relationships, new lovers, new residences, new responsibilities. We who live in awareness are much more able than the general population to face these changes without fear. But, not all of us are one hundred percent fearless.
I would like to offer a gentle reminder to not be afraid of what we are facing- afraid of change, afraid of failure, afraid of being deceived, afraid of natural disasters, afraid of criminals, afraid of the unknown - whatever.
F.E.A.R. = False Evidence Appearing Real
Yes, fear is not real; it is a construct of our minds that only works to cripple our judgment. Good judgment (with the intent of spiritual growth) is made from our intuition. If someone is feeling fear it is because their mind has intercepted their spirit in the matter, and has caused them to be afraid. Fear prevents us from making decisions that will best support our spiritual growth – decisions that should be based on LOVE. Fear is a self-made mental construct that appears to be real, but it isn’t because...
LOVE IS ALL THERE IS!
If we want to do something new but are afraid (for any of the above reasons), then our mind will cause us to stop, because it will create false evidence like, "I have no money, or I have no confidence, or I will fail, or ..." This is false evidence because the things we want to do exist as POTENTIAL – they haven’t even been tried, yet we are prevented from going further because of false evidence that our own mind has created!
Fear is just an idea that you have placed in your own way. So get rid of it!
Here’s a statement from Neale Donald Walsch’s Conversations With God books:
“What you resist persists. What you look at disappears.”
What does this mean?
First, It means that if you are afraid of something, your resistance to it creates more of it. By resisting an idea you give it more attention, thus, you give the idea more energy. Next, it means that looking at your fears will make them disappear. You will see that you can destroy them just as you have created them.
Isn’t that statement from Neale’s book the simplest truth to help us overcome our fears?
In order to be people who are totally fearless we have to confront those things that cause us fear. Looking straight at them, only then can we see that they are nothing to be afraid of. We’ve made them up! Therefore, seek to know many things through experience so that there is nothing unknown to you. What you know you will not fear. Seek a broad range of experiences so you can be ready for anything that comes onto your path.
It is also important to remember that it is OK – it is very OK - to not always be strong and fearless. Over time we learn to overcome our fears, but for a certain period of time we must live with them.
This crazy world has knocked me down many times. But like everyone, I eventually got up and continued moving forward. After a while, there will be little left to knock us down because our experiences will have prepared us to know what to expect.
Experience is how you can know if something is trying to hurt you or harm you. Have confidence in your ability to perceive the truth and know that you have the answers inside of you. Let your love flow through you so that you can attract more loving things into your life. Put your mind on success, put your mind on that which you want. Don’t put your mind on the things you don’t want – especially fears! What a waste of time!
The best way for us to overcome our fears is to not create them in the first place. Our regular meditation practice will help us do this the most. Meditation reveals all truths.
So friends, let us embrace the changes we are all experiencing with LOVE.
Be Fearless!
Thank you for letting me share. I wish you all love and peace on your journey.
