L O V E
Love is the light of the Soul, in which all that is perceived is truth - also the fire of the Spirit by which all that is base is transformed into good.
Love is a basic state in which there is the possibility of both understanding and wisdom.
Love may be regarded as the first pure relationship, a state of unity in duality.
When Love is purely spiritual, it has a focus which changes from moment to moment, according to circumstances; it is able to focus upon the life, the person, the thing which is before it, anywhere and at any time.
To be one with another is to love him, and to love him is to act from within him and through him, and not upon him from without, with a contrary effect.
Nothing in the world is self-sufficient, except that which is rooted in a condition of love.
The state of love is the state of grace. The development of that state and the unlocking of its mysteries brings one to the condition where there is no separation between oneself and others.
Love exists at those levels where we touch the true nature of things.
Shedding every earthly interest, you have to build around yourself an aura of universal Love, in which must take place the gestation of the divine man that will be yourself.
It is in a state of love that all perfections arise; it is the state in which there is no self-centredness.
The love which deserves that name is impartial, non-possessive, wholly beneficent; in that love alone is to be discovered the force which will ultimately bring man to his freedom.
Love is the only force which does not create or add to the complications of karma.
Love is a way of knowing. The lover has a divine knowledge of the beloved, divine in its quality, attained in a state of completeness and it is an end in itself. To be in love is to react directly and fully to the object of that love, without the darkening effect of self, which imposes a barrier. Yet it is not reaction, but action.
Love is the realization of a subjective unity, which in becoming objective causes its own reality to flash.
Love is movement in a new dimension, which transports us out of the stifling prison of I-ness, the gloom of its separateness.
Love is the outgoing force of the soul, the God-in-man.
By the force of Love the microcosm can be won. By that same power the macrocosm can
be conquered.
Love is the solvent of the little self.
Love, devoid of self-gratification, is in essence the will to the greatest good of another.
Love, to deserve that designation, must have a precise meaning. It must be effective in the implementation of its purpose. True love belongs to the divine Ego and is immortal. It is the pure and perfect as well as the most dynamic relation, from the standpoint of the Spirit.
Is it not possible for us to be so full of divine compassion and love that it flows through every visible and invisible connection we may have made with our fellow-beings?
Love conquers that separation which is the root-cause of all misunderstanding and trouble; it overleaps the barriers which prevent communion. Increased contact should result in increased affection.
Love is a radiation, an outflow of energy. In pure love toward another there is more than an intensity of benevolence and acceptance of that other, there is a giving forth of what one is, without any straining.
Love is, ideally, the state in which the distinction between self and another has vanished.
This does not mean that we abolish individuality, but we learn to regard the happiness, the progress, the interests of another as our own.
Where there is love without possession and the seeking of any gratification from that possession, there is bliss. Thus, to love is to give oneself without asking for a return, and in such giving is the experience of joy.
In a state of spiritual or universal Love, all other persons are but one person - the object of love.
Love is a state of mind in which the end is unified with the means; it is a state of fulfillment and an end in itself.
Love has to become an impersonal flame, by becoming universal.
When a person releases from himself a feeling of love untainted with self, it is a force which travels in an open curve and produces an effect which rises to the very feet of God, evoking a downpour of blessing, not only on the individual concerned but for the whole of humanity.
We cannot create love. But life, which is a neverceasing mode of action, has in it the capacity of that pure action which is love, when it ceases to be distorted by the antithesis of self and otherness.
Love is the outgoing force of a subjective-objective relationship which is an intense radiation.
No love can be lasting or reach its acme, which is not touched with some intimation of the pathos or sublimity of the situation in which the object of love may be involved.
To love a friend intensely, yet with pure detachment; to let him be equally or even more a friend of others; to expect no affection, while being duly appreciative of whatever affection is given; to think of how one can help, rather than of what gratification one can get; to be constant in friendship and unselfish helpfulness; to bring to the physical level the beautiful, selfless spirit of the higher planes - this is the Ideal Love.
Ideal Love, stepped down to the level of the practical, day-to-day life, must mean the service of each to all within his or her sphere, a delicate consideration of others, a control that gives rise to peace, and cessation from every thought of cruelty and lust.
When love is all in all, it is the Beloved who is present everywhere.
The love that doth not seek its own is never enslaved. The slave remains apart, never losing his identity, while the lover is one with the Beloved.
May it not be that the primordial force, the stream of influence, force and light which is the Holy Spirit, when stepped down to the level of differing manifestations, is Love and nothing else?
Love is a communion in which the consciousness is lifted to a point where, retaining its own pure quality, it integrates itself into another expression of life, another consciousness.
Love must become a creative influence in our lives, it must be worked into our judgments and all our plans of action, it should be translated into service.
Love is the only force known to man which it is not possible to vanquish by any threat, however dire, in any ordeal, however terrible, to which it may be put.
In its purity it inspires to the most wondrous sacrifice.
All soft and tender feelings once recorded in the heart are an indelible promise, intimations of a fulfillment that shall abide forever.
As we think thoughts of live down here, all invisibly we drop seeds in that celestial soil where they will grow in unimaginable profusion and beauty.
Without love there is no unfoldment, because love belongs to the life of the Spirit, to the real Self; without love all search is in vain.
You must lose your heart and search for it in every quarter. When you find it, you will know it as the heart of all things.
Let the one great aim and ideal be to lift up and universalize our affection, so that while it is as deep and intimate as though it has but one object, yet it is ready to be centered on any person, to flow to any point of need.
