Yep robby is right, you can also asked the divine, like your guide's/angels/totems, whomever you choice to pray to, or your higher self, it doesn't matter, and reading Robby J's comment, yep a shower is also good.
That works too, to take a shower, when I do that kind, I always bless the water, I appreciate the water and aking the sacred element to clean up.
You can do also a chakra exercise see my blogs about that...
What is best is follow your instinct and heart, these were all tips, but try to find your own unique way that helps you as one use that and the other the other.
Myself use more things, it depends what feels best at the moment.

Oh I saw the advice of the bubble, if bubble doesn't work, piramide or a lotus helps.
With me it is the lotus, you can visualize if you are a lotus, and that when you do not want to give away energy and get energies of others, then simply visualize that the lotus is closed and that you are inside.
You can try all kind of things, but best thing is to do what you feel is good for you.
You can use bubble, you can use a piramide around you, a cocon of light, or like me a lotus around you that can open and close and stones, but best thing is to follow your heart and instinct, nobody else can guide you best as your heart, believe me in this, as you know your own truth...

Hi Diane I haven't read the other comments on your question yet.
But I am wearing the Labadoriet on my neck that helps against negative energy, since that it is better as I can understand what you are saying as I have had that same problem, everyone who I know that has the same problem wear Labodoriet, don't know the english name, but I think it is the same, you can translate it if you google the translation sites for dutch to english.
However that stone really helps.
And.... my spiritual mom Zena, also here on this beautiful site, has got a beautiiful one in a mother earth symbol necklace my biological mom and I gave her.
but a simple one I have is also good.
If you look at my photo's.
You can see I wear three things on my neck, never take it off.
A coin, old money that is not in use no more, that is made in a necklace, that was from my granny, so she is always there with me untill I get the ashes of my grandpa and grandma in a necklace in januari, but also a real tooth of a grey wolf and that labodoriet, I never take it of, as the tooth symbolize my inner power animal and one of my many totems, it will protect me, and the labadoriett is a crystal that will protect me from bad energies, I never take them off, as it really helps.
Do you feel often tired? if everyone is sucking up your energy? or often headaches?
It is possible that this time we are in now, you can get more of that, as I am experiencing it now, only I have learned how to live with it, listening to my guideance, that is one reason I am doing it a bit slow and just go with the flow.
I do not try to fight it away as I know by experience that embracing is more effective.
But I am gonna read the other peoplé's advice and look if I can say something;)
However I just saw quickly about the stone Amethyst
Sorry sweetheart, but Amethyst is a healing stone, yes, and it is very powerful, but it is more for the headache's, more for to see things clear, it won't help the energies, i mean to protect her from the energies.
Not that it wón't help a bit, but labadoriett is the one who will clean the energies and protect also tiger eye and valken oog, don't remember the english word for valk, but oog mean eye... they are also good for protection in energies....

HI Diane ..

I just decided to go to an invite to a lady's house for dinner :-) WOW .. I was painted by all her fears and undecisiveness like I was a mat to wipe her feet on so that she could start a fresh :-) I tell u now .. this morning when I woke .. I hand a migrane on waking .. I thought I had to shower with really hot wter last night to wash of the psychic splodge too :-)

I guess wot I am saying is .. it can creep in at any time .. and I learned once again that I need to let this kind of energy just pass straight thru .. not to hold it via even question wot the hell was that because that in itself keeps the energy swirling around within .. I gave of myself to Divine and asked for a cleanse and I now feel GREAT again :-)

Hi Diane ..some of the things I have learnt are to never face straight on to people who drain your energy always shift your body so it is on an angle to them ...some people send out hooks of energy that go into your aura and chakras and this is what some use to drain your energy maybe not intentionally ...another thing you can do is to create a bubble around yourself with an egg like shell to it...with the intention of allowing your energy to go out but bouncing others energy off it...remember your intention is important you are in control...you are a powerful being and nothing affects you...you can use this as an affirmation ...just like..... I am the only person who thinks in my mind....you can use your mind's imagery to protect yourself in all sorts of ways....also look at cord cutting.Doreen Virtue explains this quite well....

try a dragon's blood oil rub down after your bath (or shower) and maybe an amythist necklass. Then do the candle meditation x2 daily for at least a week.
